Overcoming Premature Ejaculation

Are you currently dealing with premature ejaculation? Your case is definitively not unique. It is estimated that probably around 20 to 30 percent of men suffer from premature ejaculation. This is an issue that can affect men of every age. It is known for causing a host of insecurities and psychological issues in men. What exactly is premature ejaculation? When a man orgasms too soon for his partner to enjoy sex on multiple occasions, it is considered to be premature ejaculation.

Anywhere from 30 seconds to 4 minutes could be considered, but anything less than 2 is usually linked to this issue in most cultures. It can even happen before penetration or physical contact in the genital area begins. Men that suffer from it often have increased anxiety or guilt from being aware of their issue, which often leads to an even poorer performance. There are two main types of premature ejaculation, lifelong and acquired (also known as secondary).

The lifelong version usually occurs when a teenager is experiencing their first sexual contact. It can be very difficult to treat because it usually has deeply rooted psychological issues with it that also have to be addressed in order to successfully overcome the problem. Some bad habits common in teenagers, such as masturbating to ejaculate as quickly as possible, often make matters worse. Acquired premature ejaculation happens later in life and it’s usually triggered by psychological causes such as relationship issues or stress or physical causes like high blood pressure, diabetes or hormonal problems. In some cases, premature ejaculation can get better on its own. With enough practice, this issue can sometimes get better. Also, most men will find that doing male enhancement exercises will be an excellent help to greatly delay their ejaculations.

Exercises like stretching and kegels can sometimes be all they need to strengthen the ligaments and muscles that improve ejaculatory control. However, this won’t be enough in every case, and some will need a bit of extra help to delay premature ejaculation. Some good news: around 50–90 percent of men manage to improve their ejaculation control with a few lifestyle changes. If you’re currently suffering from premature ejaculation, you should seriously consider cutting out or lowering alcohol and tobacco intake.

This alone can make a lot to improve ejaculatory control. Exercise and a proper diet will also benefit men that are suffering from increased stress levels that end up affecting their performance in bed.

There are some “quick fixes” for premature ejaculation that can be of great help in the short term. The first recommendation usually made to men with this issue is to use thicker condoms, or condoms that include substances that decrease the sensitivity of the penis. These “numbing” substances are also sold by themselves in the form of creams, gels or sprays. They usually include lidocaine and lidocaine-prilocaine, which are 2 amide-type local anesthetics.

As you might have imagined, their most obvious negative effect is greatly decreased pleasure and sometimes loss of erection. Specialized exercises for improving ejaculatory control are our number one choice for helping men in this area. Just like male enhancement exercises, they are simple to perform, convenient and free to use. Although one our strongest recommendations to improve ejaculatory control are kegel exercises, we won’t be covering them, because we’ve already done so extensively in previous articles. Here’re a couple of exercises that have proven to be extremely successful for delaying ejaculation.

THE “START-STOP” TECHNIQUE

This is a very simple and easy to perform technique and doesn’t require a partner to practice it. In fact, we recommend practicing it with masturbation before integrating it when having sex with your partner. It can be a bit frustrating for your partner for you to be constantly stopping sexual activity. You start by stimulating the penis and stopping just before you feel that you are about to ejaculate (this technique is sometimes called edging). A mental exercise that can help is to rank your current stimulation level from 1 to 10. One being barely aroused and 10 reaching orgasm. When practicing this technique try not to go over 7 or 8. Whenever you feel that you’re going over 8, completely stop and wait for your arousal to go down to at least a 4 (might take 40–60 seconds).

PILLS

If you’re dealing with a severe case of premature ejaculation and have found little improvement after trying some natural methods, you could always consult with a certified physician for a solution. In some cases, they will prescribe you with pills such as Priligy. If dealing with psychological issues, sometimes Prozac or Paxil help alleviate them. They can be a good option for men that have already exhausted several other methods.
